One thing I love about Melbourne (amongst a million other) is hard rubbish. I mean, who even has that?! It is one of those things that nearly no city council allows because it makes the streets look messy. But Melbourne.. Yup. She's got it. To some of you who are unfamiliar with "hard rubbish" it is simply an annual council collection of all the stuff you don't want in your house anymore. We are talking old washing machines, outdated flat screen tvs (how can they already be outdated!?), sport equiptment, furniture, anything! A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G. And I didn't even mention the best part yet: You are allowed to go collect yourself! Even though it makes you feel like a complete bum going through people's old belongings right outside their house, it still hasn't stopped me. No no. Last time hard rubbish came around I found and old cane chair. When I say old I mean o-l-d. Dusty, rusty and in pretty bad condition. But I loved the shape and design of it so much that I brought it home. And now I have renovated it! It is my first chair renovation and I am hooked. Would love to do so many more! Have you ever renovated an old cane chair? Please share, I would love to see. xo camilla
